A shirt that disappears to the back of the wardrobe after one wear is no use to anyone. Good merch is clothing people reach for themselves: a soft hoodie, a cap that fits well, a bag that comes along to the market. Looking for custom merch printing for your festival, sports club, band, student society or coffee bar? With the right basics, your logo becomes something people love to wear. We have picked our favourites and print them in our workshop in Nijmegen, starting from a single piece.

Hoodie with your logo: Blend 50/50 is made for merch

With the Blend 50/50 collection, Kariban has created a line of sweaters that does exactly what good merch should do: feel comfortable and look sharp with your design on it. There's a crew neck sweater, a hoodie and a zip hoodie. They're made of 280 g/m² brushed fleece: 50% ring-spun cotton and 50% post-consumer recycled polyester. That gives an even surface where a print sits beautifully. And there's no brand label in the neck, so it feels like your own brand.

The colours are a treat: from soft pastels and olive green to bright yellow and orange. For merch, a small logo on the chest combined with a big design on the back almost always works. We press text or a logo in 1 or 2 colours with cut vinyl, crisp and sharp, in 104 vinyl colours including fluorescent, gold, silver and metallic. Does your design have many colours, a gradient or a photo? Then choose full colour DTF, which also looks great on dark fabric. Find more styles in sweaters and hoodies.

Merch for the youngest fans

The great thing about Blend 50/50 is that the same styles also come in kids' sizes. So the football club's youth teams can wear the same hoodie as their coaches, and the whole family can wear matching sweaters on family day. Perfect for summer camps, school musicals, scouting and sports events.

Tip from the workshop

Kids’ clothes go through the wash a lot. Wash a printed sweater inside out and preferably not in the tumble dryer, and your print stays at its best.

Where do you put your logo on a hoodie or sweater?

For merch, small on the front and big on the back almost always works. A small logo on the chest keeps the front calm, so people happily wear the hoodie to work or school too. The back has room for the real statement: your big design, your festival name or your tour dates. We use these sizes as a guideline:

Left chest8–10 cmwide, for a small logo or brand mark
Centre frontup to 28 cmwide; on a hoodie above the pouch pocket, max. about 20 cm high
Backup to 30 × 40 cmfor your big design or the line-up
Sleeve7–9 cmon the upper arm, for a year or a second logo

Guidelines; the digital proof shows exactly how big your design comes out on your size.

Printed caps: K-up for merch that gets seen

A cap gets worn at the festival, at the match, on the terrace and on holiday. That makes it one of the most visible pieces of merch. K-up offers a huge choice; these are our favourites for merch people actually want to wear.

The dad cap, with its low profile, suits almost everyone. The distressed washed cap and the vintage cap have a lived-in look that's perfect for streetwear and festivals. And the organic cotton cap from the Gold Label line feels a little more substantial. Caps are different from sweaters, though: not every position or fabric works with every technique. The product page shows which positions and techniques are available for each model. Browse all styles in caps.

Printed bags: merch that goes out into the world

A bag is merch that keeps on travelling. After the festival it comes along to the supermarket, the library and the beach. At Kimood you'll find cotton bags with a large, calm surface where your design really stands out.

The large shopper with side pocket (KI3214) is roomy enough for a full shopping trip. The duffel bag (KI6602) and the tote bag with base and gusset (KI6203) are made of GOTS-certified organic cotton. The large shopper (KI5230) is made of GRS-certified recycled cotton. Here too, the product page shows which positions and techniques are available for each bag. Find more bags in bags and luggage.

Which size and colour should you choose for your merch?

With merch you usually order for a group you cannot all try on. So start with one piece in your own size: because we print from a single item, you first see and feel how the hoodie falls and how big your print comes out. Then collect sizes from your group and order more. Looking for a roomier, bolder fit? Read our blog on printing oversized shirts and hoodies.

Choose your colour to suit your design, not the other way round. A dark logo looks great on pastel, olive or bright yellow; on a dark hoodie, a light vinyl colour or full colour DTF works well, as DTF also shows up nicely on dark fabric.

Frequently asked questions about custom merch

What is the minimum amount of merch I can order?

You can order from a single piece. Handy for having a sample made first and ordering more once your merch sells well. That way you never end up with a box of unsold sizes in storage.

Where can I get merch printed in Nijmegen?

In our own workshop at In de Betouwstraat 40, in the centre of Nijmegen. That is where we press your hoodies, caps and bags. Walk in to feel fabrics and compare colours, pick up your order or have everything delivered.

Which techniques do you use for merch?

We press with cut vinyl: 1 or 2 colours, crisp and sharp, in 104 vinyl colours. For photos, gradients and many colours we use full colour DTF, also on dark fabric. Read more on clothing printing in Nijmegen.

Can I see what my merch will look like first?

Yes. Before we press anything, you always get a digital proof showing your design in the chosen spot and in the right proportions. We only start once you approve it. Want to change something? We adjust the proof first.

Can you help with a complete merch collection?

Gladly. Request a quote or get in touch, and we will help you choose models, colours and placement, from hoodie to cap and bag. You can also visit our workshop at In de Betouwstraat 40, where we lay out the options side by side.
