Which fold suits your folder?
The fold determines how your story unfolds. Choose one that suits what you want to tell:
- Single fold — the folder opens like a booklet. With laminate it also makes an ideal menu.
- Cross fold — folded twice, clear for a lot of information on a large sheet.
- Roll fold (2 or 3 folds) — the panels fold inwards; the classic leaflet for the leaflet rack.
- Zigzag fold (2 or 3 folds) — folds out like an accordion, handy for a step-by-step plan or timeline.
There are seven folding styles in total; you'll see them all when you put your order together. Not sure? Tell us what it's for and we'll recommend the right fold.
Sizes: from A7 to A3
We print folders in the A sizes and in custom sizes, for when you want something a little different.
- A6 and A5 — handy for handing out or posting through letterboxes.
- A4 — room for a programme, price list or product overview.
- A3 — a large fold-out, for a map or lots of images.
- A7 — small and eye-catching, for example with a product or gift.
Use the template for the size when you design it: that way you know the fold lines will be in the right place.
Paper, creasing and laminate
You choose from three paper types and several weights, from 135 to 400 gsm: silk, gloss or matt uncoated. Want to be able to write on the folder? Then choose uncoated paper.
Paper up to 170 gsm we simply fold. Thicker paper we crease first: we press a small groove where the fold goes, so the paper doesn't crack or tear.
Tip: does your design run across the fold lines? Then choose matt or gloss laminate. It stops the ink from cracking on the fold, and the folder feels sturdier.

Frequently asked questions about folder printing
What's the difference between a flyer and a folder?
A flyer is a single, unfolded sheet. A folder is folded and therefore has several panels, so you can fit more in.
Which folds are there?
Seven, including single fold, cross fold, wrap fold and zigzag fold with two or three folds. You see them all when putting your order together.
What is the minimum number of folders I can order?
You can have folders printed from 10 pieces. Because we print digitally, there are no set-up costs.
Which sizes can I choose?
A3, A4, A5, A6 and A7, as well as custom sizes.
Does the ink crack on the fold?
With thick paper or a design that runs across the fold it can. That's why we crease paper above 170 gsm, and recommend matt or gloss laminate if your design runs across the fold lines.
Can you design my folder?
Yes. Our graphic studio designs your folder or makes your own design print-ready, at a fee. You hear in advance what it costs.
Can I collect my folders in Nijmegen?
Yes, at our print shop at Betouwstraat 40 in the centre of Nijmegen, Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 17:00. Delivery is also possible.
