A keder fabric is a printed fabric with a flat silicone keder all round, which you press into a frame. You see them in exhibition stands, shops and offices. Swapping is easy: a new fabric in the same frame for each season or campaign. We make them in Nijmegen; collect from Betouwstraat or have them posted.
Deco fabric is the most popular choice: matt, bright white and with a high crease recovery. You can even wash and iron it. Velours is velvety soft and looks luxurious, but has no fire certificate. Blackback ReNew∞ is 100% recyclable, is made of 30% (cutting) waste and old fabrics and blocks light thanks to white and black yarns, without a PU coating. You can also choose from Structex, Decotex UV, Blackback Soft and Blackback UV, among others.
A blockout fabric lets no sunlight or artificial light through, so your print stays clearly visible even in a brightly lit exhibition hall and the frame does not show through the fabric. A backlit fabric, on the other hand, lets light through and is intended for illuminated frames: the light is spread evenly. For an illuminated Aluvision or beMatrix frame, choose Samba Backlit (UV print) or LumiTex (dye-sublimated and odourless).
For the wooden textile frame, choose Velours, Dekostof, Blackback ReNew∞ or Blackback Soft. For an unlit Aluvision or beMatrix frame, choose Blackback Soft, Blackback XL, Dekostof or Blackback ReNew∞. With those two frames the dimensions differ slightly; we convert that for you automatically.
With a keder, hem or tunnel the edge can be lost during finishing. So do not place important text, logos or images within 3 cm of the edge. Mounting is even easier with the e-lock tool.
Flexible printed textile fabric with vivid colours.
Always measure the outside of the frame; that is the size of your fabric.
First hang the frame on the wall. Then press the fabric into all the corners, starting at the top, and then press the rest of the keder into the frame.
Once the fabric is in the frame, tension is applied and the folds pull out by themselves. That can take a few days.
