Everything about printing clothing in Nijmegen

Why have a T-shirt printed?

The T-shirt is the most worn garment there is, and therefore also the easiest business card. You wear a printed shirt on the work floor, at a tournament, at a festival or as a keepsake for an anniversary. Because a T-shirt is made of plain-weave jersey, a logo, text or photo appears on it sharp and calm. In our workshop on the Betouwstraat, we press every shirt ourselves, whether it's just one or a box full for your whole team.

Where does your logo go on a T-shirt?

The position of the print determines how your shirt comes across. As a guideline, we work with these sizes:

  • Left chest8 to 10 cm wide, the classic spot for a company logo.
  • Centre frontup to about 28 cm wide, for a big statement or event print.
  • Backup to around 30 by 40 cm, for a name, squad number or sponsor list.
  • Neck6 to 8 cm, for a website address or small logo mark.
  • Sleeve7 to 9 cm, for a flag, year or second logo.

On the product page, you choose 1 colour or full colour per position and upload your file. Not sure about the proportions? In the digital proof, you can see exactly what your T-shirt with logo will look like.

Cut vinyl or DTF: which technique suits your shirt?

We work with two techniques, both a transfer that is pressed onto the fabric with heat. Cut vinyl is the choice for logos and texts in one or two colours: the vinyl is cut out, lies flat and opaque on the shirt and stays sharp down to small lettering. You choose from 104 vinyl colours, including fluorescent, gold, silver and metallic. A name and squad number on a sports shirt, for example, is made in cut vinyl.

If your design contains a photo, a colour gradient or a whole palette of colours, choose a DTF transfer. This applies full colour to the fabric in one go, works on cotton and polyester and also covers well on black or dark shirts. With DTF too, you can simply have a single item printed.

Cotton, polyester or organic: choosing the right shirt

The fabric weight says a lot about how it feels to wear. A shirt of around 150 g/m² is light and airy, ideal for an event or a warm day. Around 180 to 190 g/m² feels sturdier, drapes more nicely and lasts longer as a work shirt. Our iDeal line, for example, comes in 150, 170 and 190 grams, so you can easily compare.

If you're doing sport, choose a functional polyester shirt, such as the models from Proact: these wick away moisture and dry quickly. Want something more sustainable, then filter by certification, such as GOTS organic cotton or recycled polyester. This category features 389 T-shirts from, among others, Kariban, Proact, B&C, Fruit of the Loom, Native Spirit, Build Your Brand, Tee Jays and Gildan, in men's, women's, unisex and children's sizes, with short or long sleeves.

Who we print T-shirts for

Companies order shirts with a logo for their staff, a trade fair stand or a staff outing. Sports clubs have kits printed with name and number; for Power House Gym, for example, we made kickboxing clothing. Student associations choose anniversary shirts, such as DG Lief. And sometimes it's simply one shirt with a personal design for a birthday, hen or stag do, or the Vierdaagse. Our customers come from the city centre, but just as often from Lent, Dukenburg, Wijchen, Beuningen and Arnhem.

Washing your printed T-shirt

With a few habits, your print stays looking good for a long time. Wash the shirt inside out at 30 or 40 degrees, skip fabric softener and preferably hang it on the line to dry. Never iron directly over the print; iron the inside if needed. For work shirts that are often washed at a high temperature, we use a sturdy vinyl that can withstand this.

Frequently asked questions

Can I have one T-shirt printed?

Yes. You can order from us from 1 item, even with a full colour DTF transfer. No screen or plate needs to be made, so a single shirt for a birthday or as a sample for your team is just as possible as a large order.

Can I visit in Nijmegen to view T-shirts?

Certainly. Our workshop is in the city centre, at In de Betouwstraat 40. There you can feel fabrics, compare colours and discuss your design. That way you'll immediately notice the difference between a light 150-gram shirt and a sturdy 190-gram shirt.

Do you also deliver printed T-shirts outside Nijmegen?

Yes. You can collect your shirts in the centre of Nijmegen or have them delivered. This applies to customers in the region, such as Wijchen or Arnhem, but also to orders from the rest of the Netherlands.

Which technique is best for my T-shirt?

For a logo or text in one or two colours, choose cut vinyl: flat, opaque and sharp down to small lettering, in 104 colours. If your design contains a photo, gradient or lots of colours, then a full colour DTF transfer is the best choice.

Can I have a T-shirt printed with my own design or photo?

Yes. Upload your design per position on the product page and choose full colour. We apply it to the shirt with a DTF transfer, even on black or dark fabric. You'll see the result first in a digital proof before we start pressing.

Can you put names and squad numbers on sports shirts?

Yes, we often do this for clubs and teams. We usually make names and numbers in cut vinyl, because it's flat, opaque and holds up well against sport and washing. For a team list, just get in touch or request a quote.

How do I wash a printed T-shirt?

Wash the shirt inside out at 30 or 40 degrees, without fabric softener, and preferably dry it on the line. Don't iron directly over the print. This way, colours and edges stay looking good for a long time, whether you've chosen cut vinyl or DTF.
