Which binding suits your dissertation?
How thick your dissertation is determines which binding suits it. Below you'll find the thicknesses per type and how many sheets of paper fit in each. Not sure? Bring your stack or your pdf and we'll have a look together.
| Binding | Suitable for |
|---|---|

| Metal ring binder (silver), 6 mm | 2 to 55 sheets |
| Metal ring binder (silver), 8 mm | 55 to 70 sheets |

| Thermobind cover (white), 6 mm | 31 to 50 sheets |
Plastic ring binder
The well-known black ring binder. Your dissertation lies flat open on the table, you can easily leaf through it, and it's suitable for both thin and slightly thicker pieces.
Metal ring binder
A silver metal ring gives a sleeker, more sophisticated look. This one also opens completely flat, which is handy for a report someone wants to write in or read along with during a presentation.
Thermobind cover
A white cover with a spine in which the sheets are fixed. The result looks more like a booklet, without a visible ring. Lovely for a dissertation or portfolio you want to hand over.
Printing in black-and-white or colour, on the paper that suits you
We print your dissertation on A4, in black-and-white or in colour. Does it contain graphs, photos or colour codes? Then only those pages are printed in colour and the rest in black-and-white.
- Standard paper, 80 grams: for most dissertations and reports.
- Glossy, 130 to 200 grams: glossy, for photos and a portfolio with vivid colours.
- Natural cardboard, 120 to 300 grams: matte and sturdy, lovely for a cover or a sturdy first page.
- Polyester, 210 grams: water-resistant and tear-resistant.
On the front of your dissertation you can add a transparent plastic cover sheet, so your title page is visible and protected, or a coloured cover sheet. We can also laminate loose pages or a summary, and we cut to size if needed.
