Why have sportswear printed?

A team that looks the same radiates something. Printed sportswear turns a loose group of people into a club: on the pitch, at the gym, at a running event or at a tournament. But sportswear demands more from a print than an ordinary T-shirt. The fabric stretches with movement, you sweat in it, and everything goes into the washing machine after every training session. That's why, with sportswear, we look at the fabric first and only then at the design.

In this category you'll find clothing from, among others, Proact, Spiro, Tee Jays, Kariban, Fruit of the Loom, Kustom Kit and B&C: breathable sports shirts, sports polos, sports shorts, jogging bottoms and hooded sweat vests. Everything can be printed with your own logo, club name or design.

Printing sports shirts: polyester needs the right approach

Most sports shirts are made of polyester or a polyester mix with an open, breathable structure. This feels light and dries quickly, but it tolerates less heat than cotton. That's why we press sportswear at an adjusted temperature and match the transfer to the fabric. This keeps the shirt supple and prevents a shiny press mark around the logo.

  • Cutting vinylis ideal for club names, squad numbers and sponsor logos in one or two colours. Crisp, opaque and easy to read from a distance. You can choose from 104 vinyl colours, including fluorescent that stands out on the pitch and gold or silver for a championship shirt.
  • DTF transferis used for a club logo with many colours, gradients or a photo. The transfer is thin and flexible and also works on dark and brightly coloured sports fabric.

Squad numbers, names and sponsors: where does what go?

Because each print is a separate transfer, every shirt can be different. Each player gets their own name and number, without you having to order a whole series of identical shirts. As a guideline for sizes:

  • Left chest:club logo 8 to 10 cm wide.
  • Back:name 25 to 30 cm wide, with a squad number below it 20 to 25 cm high.
  • Sleeve:sponsor or flag 7 to 8 cm wide.
  • Sports shorts:number or logo 8 to 10 cm on the leg.

Choosing fabric, fit and weight

For intensive sport, choose a light, quick-drying shirt; for the warm-up or the clubhouse, something sturdier. A Performance aircool polo is airy and just smart enough for coaches and supervisors. If you want a ladies' fit, there's the ladies' luxury sports polo, which has a more tailored cut than the men's model. For travelling and between matches, a hooded sweat vest and an eco-friendly sports short come in handy. In the overview you can filter by target group, size, colour, material, fabric weight and certification, such as recycled polyester.

  • 2. Compose your print:choose 1 colour or full colour per position and upload your logo. You let us know the names and numbers per shirt.
  • 3. Digital proof:you'll first receive a proof for approval. We only start pressing once you've approved it.
  • 4. Pressing and collection:we press everything in our workshop on Betouwstraat. You can collect from the centre of Nijmegen or have it delivered.

Washing and care of printed sportswear

Wash your sportswear inside out at 30 or 40 degrees and skip the fabric softener: it clogs up the breathable fabric. Hang shirts up to dry rather than putting them in a hot tumble dryer, and never iron directly over the print. This keeps the name, number and logo looking good all season.

Can I have a single sports shirt printed?

Yes, you can order from us from 1 piece. This is handy for a new team member, a spare shirt or a shirt with your own name for a running event. You put the print together on the product page and first receive a digital proof.

Can every shirt have its own name and squad number?

Certainly. Because we work with separate transfers, every shirt can get a different name and number. You tell us what should go on each one, per size and per player. In the proof you check all the names before we start pressing.

Which technique suits polyester sports shirts?

For names, numbers and logos in one or two colours, cutting vinyl is crisp and easy to read. For a colourful club logo, choose DTF transfer. We press polyester at an adjusted temperature, so the breathable fabric stays supple.

Won't the print come loose if I sweat a lot and wash often?

A well-pressed transfer lasts a long time, even with frequent washing. Wash the shirt inside out at 30 or 40 degrees, don't use fabric softener, and don't iron over the print. This keeps the logo looking neat all season.

Can I come by in Nijmegen to view sportswear?

Yes, you're welcome at our workshop at In de Betouwstraat 40 in the centre of Nijmegen. You can feel the fabrics, compare fits and go through your design with us. Just give us a call beforehand on 024 360 5753 if you'd like to see specific shirts.

Do you deliver sportswear outside Nijmegen too?

Yes. You can collect your order from the centre of Nijmegen, but we also deliver. Clubs from Wijchen, Arnhem or further away simply order online and have the printed clothing delivered home or to the club.

Do you also have sports shirts in a women's fit?

Yes, many sports shirts and sports polos are available in both a men's and a women's model, such as the Tee Jays luxury sports polo. In the overview you can filter by target group, so you can choose the right fit for each team member.
