Everything about printing on clothing in Nijmegen

Why have a winter hat printed?

As soon as it gets colder, the hat goes on and stays visible all day long. A beanie with your logo is therefore a smart choice for outdoor crews, sports clubs, winter markets, school trips and as a corporate gift in a Christmas hamper. A hat is personal, practical and gets worn for years. In this category you'll find 45 hats from, among others, K-UP and Beechfield, supplemented with models from Flexfit, Result, Spiro and Build Your Brand.

Which hat do you choose?

  • Turn-up hat:the classic knitted beanie with a folded-back edge, such as the turn-up hat from K-UP. The turn-up provides a flat area at the front for your logo.
  • Hat with patch:a beanie with a fixed fabric panel at the front, specially made for printing. For example the Original Patch Beanie or the hat with round patch, which works nicely with a round logo.
  • Lined hat:models with a Thinsulate™ lining keep you extra warm, handy for anyone who stands outside for long periods. There's also a recycled hat with patch and Thinsulate™ lining.
  • Sports hat:a thinner, close-fitting hat such as the Sport Beanie, for runners and cyclists who don't want a thick hat.

Where does your logo go on a hat?

A hat really only has one spot that counts: the front. As a guideline:

  • On the turn-up:a logo or text 6 to 8 cm wide and 3 to 5 cm high, centred above the forehead.
  • On the patch:the design fills the patch, with a small border around it. A round patch calls for a round or compact logo.
  • As a label:a small logo of 3 to 4 cm on the side of the turn-up, for an understated, brand-like look.

Also think about contrast: a hat is often dark, such as black, navy or anthracite. A logo in white, yellow or a light foil colour then stays legible from a distance, while a dark blue logo on a black hat almost disappears. On a light hat, it works the other way round.

Wide, horizontal logo or a long company name? Then a hat with a turn-up works better than a hat with a small patch. In the digital proof you'll see exactly how it fits.

Which technique works on knitted fabric?

Knitted fabric has texture: the stitches form small ridges, and very fine lines get lost in them. That's why, for hats, we prefer a bold, clearly legible design, and a hat with a patch is the cleanest base.

  • Cut vinylis ideal for a logo or name in one or two colours. With 104 foil colours, including fluorescent that stands out in the grey winter months, and gold or silver for a festive hat.
  • DTF transferis used for a full-colour logo, preferably on a patch, where the smooth surface shows details well.

Frequently asked questions

Can I have one hat printed?

Yes, you can order from us from 1 piece. So one beanie with your name or logo, as a gift or to test your design, is no problem. You put together the print on the product page and receive a digital proof first.

Where does the logo go on a hat?

On the front: on the turn-up, with a logo about 6 to 8 cm wide, or on the patch of a patch hat. A small logo as a label on the side of the turn-up is also possible. In the proof you'll see exactly how it looks.

Is a knitted hat good for printing?

Yes, but the texture of the knitted stitches shows very fine details less well. So choose a bold, legible design. For a full-colour logo, a hat with a patch is the best base, as it has a smooth surface.

How do I wash a printed hat?

Wash the hat by hand in lukewarm water with a mild detergent, gently squeeze it out and lay it flat to dry. Do not tumble dry and do not iron over the print, so the shape and logo stay neat.

Can I come by in Nijmegen to view hats?

Yes, you're welcome at our workshop at In de Betouwstraat 40 in Nijmegen city centre. You can try on hats, feel the different knits and look with us at how your logo will sit on the turn-up or patch.

Do you also deliver hats outside Nijmegen?

Yes. You can collect your printed hats in Nijmegen city centre, but we also deliver throughout the rest of the Netherlands. Handy for businesses and clubs who prefer to order online.

Can you make hats with a logo as a corporate gift?

Certainly. A hat with your company logo is a practical gift that gets worn all winter long. For a larger order you can request a quote; in that case too, you'll first receive a digital proof.
