Boat, golf and national flags in Nijmegen
This category is small and deliberately specific: a flag for on the water, a flag for the golf course and a national flag. The boat flag is triangular and available in 40 x 30, 60 x 40 or 75 x 50 cm. It's made from Flag Longlife, a fabric that frays less. A flag has a hard time on the water: in a force six wind, a boat flag lasts three to five months. The through-print is 90 to 95 per cent, so on the back your design is still clearly visible, in mirror image. You choose yourself whether the tape and cord sit on the left or right, so the flag fits your line or pole properly. Handy for a sailing club, a boat trip or a sloop with your own name.
The golf flag fits all standard flagpoles on the golf course and comes with a plastic golf tube of ø 2 cm as standard. It's made from extra strong Flag Longlife and stays looking good for a long time. Golf clubs use it for their own club flag, but also per event, season or sponsor: with your own flag on every green, you instantly make a tournament recognisable. The national flag is available as a Dutch, Frisian, German or Belgian flag, in 100 x 150, 150 x 225 or 200 x 300 cm. The fabric is spun polyester of 155 g/m², hemmed all round with double stitching and therefore extra strong. The flag is colourfast, UV-resistant and washable at 40 degrees, and the colours follow NEN 3055. Looking for the flag of Nijmegen? For a flag on a mast, the rule of thumb is that the flag is about a quarter to a third of the mast's height. A façade pole on a house usually takes the smallest size; a tall mast at a clubhouse calls for a larger fabric. Hang a flag so it can flutter freely, without rubbing against a gutter, tree or wall: that's exactly where the fabric wears out first.
Bring your flag in during a storm, let it dry after rain before rolling it up, and store it dry. A national flag can be washed at 40 degrees. If a corner starts to fray, take the flag down from the mast in time; a small tear quickly grows larger in strong wind. For a boat flag that hangs outside all season, a second one isn't an unnecessary luxury.
