Printing trousers and shorts in Nijmegen

A pair of trousers has less flat space than a shirt, and pockets, seams and zips determine where a print sits well. As a guideline:

• Front thigh, left or right:logo 8 to 10 cm wide, just below the pocket. The most popular spot on joggers and work trousers.
• Along the leg:a club name or text vertically along the side, 25 to 30 cm long and 4 to 5 cm high.
• Back, above the pocket:a small logo 6 to 8 cm wide.
• Shorts:a number or logo of 6 to 8 cm on the leg, or text across the seat for an eye-catching team kit.

We don't press over pockets, seams or zips: a transfer can't adhere properly there. In the digital proof you'll see exactly where the design will be placed.

A pair of trousers moves with every step, so the print needs to stay flexible. That's why we choose a suitable transfer for each fabric.

• Joggers made of cotton, fleece or french terrytake both cut vinyl and DTF transfers well. For a club name in one colour, cut vinyl is crisp and opaque; a colourful logo is best done with DTF.
• Work trousers made of polyester-cotton or canvasare often washed at high temperatures. For these we use a sturdy vinyl that can withstand that.
• Sports shorts and swim shorts made of polyesterare pressed at an adjusted temperature, so the fabric doesn't shine or distort.
• Chinos, trousers and jeansare best suited to a small, subtle logo, for example on the thigh or above the back pocket.

You mainly choose a pair of trousers based on use. For the gym or a team outing, an eco-friendly pair of joggers is comfortable and easy to print. For women, for example, there's an eco-friendly women's french terry shorts. For the work floor there are work trousers with reinforced knees, knee pockets and tool pockets, and for the office or reception a smart men's trousers with 5 pockets. There's also an eco-friendly pair of swim shorts for a swimming club or beach party, and chinos for boys and girls. In the overview you can filter by target group, size, colour, material, fabric weight and certification, such as GOTS organic cotton or recycled polyester.

Companies combine printed work trousers with a shirt or jacket in the same house style. Sports clubs and dance schools have joggers and shorts printed as a fixed team kit, and student societies often choose joggers with the name of their year group along the leg. For a hen or stag do or a festival group, a pair of shorts with text is also a fun choice. • 3. Digital proof:you'll always receive a proof for approval first; we only start pressing once you've approved it.
• 4. Pressing and collection:we press in our workshop on Betouwstraat. You can collect from the centre of Nijmegen, or have it delivered.

Wash printed trousers inside out, so the print doesn't rub against zips and buttons. Wash joggers and shorts at 30 or 40 degrees; for work trousers follow the care label, the vinyl is matched to it. Never iron directly over the print and rinse swim shorts in clean water after swimming.
